Serbia and Montenegro


Current series since 2011. Diplomatic plates are coloured yellow on black. To the left is the district code, aligned vertically (BG = Belgrade), followed by the registration which consists of a two or three digit Embassy code (30 = United Kingdom), the letter A, E, M or P, and a three digit serial, with 001 for an Ambassador. Vertically aligned at the right are the last two digits of the year of validity.

A = Diplomatic Corps
E = Foreign commercial missions
M = Non-diplomatic embassy and mission staff
P = Foreign Press

Former Yugoslavia (until 2003)

From 1963 Diplomatic plates were yellow on black with a two or three digit embassy code, (36 = The Netherlands) letters A and E only and with, usually, the last two digits of the year vertically as a prefix.
